Pat Keen was a stalwart of the Ipswich Arts theatre's repertory company in 1967-68. She held her own as Goldsmith's Mrs Hardcastle, Sheridan's Lydia Languish and Wilde's Lady Bracknell. I particularly remember Pat as the quietly frustrated Olga in Chekhov's Three Sisters, in which the longing to escape to Moscow was underlined by the rather claustrophobic stage at the otherwise delightfully intimate Ipswich theatre.
