Letter: Frank Atkinson obituary

I owe a lifelong debt of gratitude to Frank Atkinson for the encouragement he gave me in my first real museum job, at the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle. Whatever success I achieved thereafter was grounded in the experience I gained under his guidance. He was ebullient and optimistic, and intensely curious about everything that crossed his path. Without those qualities Beamish would never have been achieved.
