Because we made a number of programmes together for what was then Southern Television, I came to know Dora Bryan both professionally and personally. For many years, Dora lived in Kemptown, Brighton and was a familiar, friendly face in the area. She was one of the earliest supporters for children with cystic fibrosis and held fundraising events at the Clarges hotel, where she lived for a while with her family. She also ran a Sunday school for children, until work commitments meant that she had to hand on the leadership to others.
