I saw Sid Caesar (obituary, 14 February) and Imogene Coca when they appeared at Michael's Pub in Manhattan about 15 years ago. They were so funny that the band was laughing as much as the audience. In the interval I asked one of the musicians how they could find them so funny when they had been watching them all week. "But it's different every night," he said. "You never know what they're going to say next, and nor do they."
